SHORT BIOGRAPHY
Christian Barraco, born in Palermo in 2001, began studying the cello under Tiziana Raccuglia and continued his training with Kristi Curb, Viviana Caiolo, Luca Fiorentini, Ulrike Hoffman, and Giovanni Sollima. He graduated from the Conservatory of Palermo with top marks, honors, and special distinction. He also attended the International Academy “Incontri col Maestro” in Imola, where he refined his skills under the guidance of cellist Alain Meunier.

He has participated in numerous national and international competitions, earning recognition at the Valencia Competition, the Valle dello Jato Competition, the Euterpe Competition, the Eliodoro Sollima Competition, the A.M.A. Calabria Competition, the Abbado Prize, and the Maria Elisa Di Fatta Prize. He also took part in international cello competitions such as the Bratislava Cello Competition and the Livorno Cello Competition.

He has performed as a soloist with orchestra in prestigious venues, including the Teatro Politeama and Teatro Massimo in Palermo, the Teatro Dante Alighieri in Ravenna, and the Teatro Goldoni in Livorno. Additionally, he has given solo cello recitals and duo performances with piano across Italy, and he has performed in duo with Giovanni Sollima.

He has collaborated as a cellist with the Luigi Cherubini Youth Orchestra conducted by Riccardo Muti and has participated in tours in Lebanon and Russia. He is currently continuing his studies at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia under Giovanni Sollima and at the Conservatory of Castelfranco Veneto with Damiano Scarpa.
